Do any of you have benadryl on your "do not take before surgery" list?

It is not in mine, but I know some of you have received longer lists. I am having trouble sleeping and wanted to take some tonight before bedtime.

I don't know about that, but my PS routinely gives Valium for the night before, in case we can't sleep. Or Ambien CR.

I didn't take mine, since I'm weird and get excited and was not nervous. I saved the Valium for after.

But, if you can't sleep due to your sx, you should call tomorrow so at least the next two nights you can sleep okay.

Far as tonight, I don't know. I probably would not risk it myself.

I received one Ativan (anxiety) pill for the night before surgery. These last few days I have been cleaning like crazy and I thought that being physically tired would be enough to ensure a good nights rest, but it is not. I will have to call tomorrow and ask what I can take. I new anti nausea pills also make me sleepy so I am going to ask if I can take one or the other. Thank you for your reply :)

I took it right after for the itching, so I would think you could take it. But I would call to check first. You need your rest, relax it will be ok.

It's best to ask your surgeon.

I'd say yes, but you always need to contact PS office first. If he/she doesn't advocate this, perhaps they will give you a script for something else.
