Heating pad after lipo??

Heating pad after lipo??

Postby TabbyRN » Wed Jan 25, 2006 11:15 am

I noticed in another post that a heating pad is great for back pain except if you've had lipo. I had no idea!! I had lipo on my flanks with my tt and have been using a heating pad for the past few days for a backache. Is this contraindicated? It's something I never thought to ask my ps. My lipo'd areas are very tender - am I making it worse?
Thanks for any help!

Heat on lipo'd areas will make you swell like a puff fish and inhibit healing..

If it's just the back and there was no lipo there... then heat can help the muscle soreness.
