How to deal with gas pressure?I had a full tummy tuck procedure was done on November 17. Stayed one day in hospital then released home. I haven't had a bowel movement since I have been home gas pressure is building up (it make my tummy really tight). I have taken Rolaids with gas, oatmeal for fiber and Milk of Magnesia, but no luck. Anyone have any suggestions???

Re: How to deal with gas pressure? This is my non-medical opinion, it is time to poop. If I were you, I would take a stool softener, such as Sennakot soon. A lot depends on how regular you are, I go at least once a day, if not more. Is it normal for you to go 4 days? Don't delay on this, you do not want impacted bowels. I was so scared of this that after 24 hours of not pooping after surgery and the stool softener had not kicked in, I did an enema. Regular ever since. You have a lot of drugs in your system that slow down the process, anesthesia plus narcotics is a killer for the bowels. I don't want to sound dramatic, but poop is toxic and it needs to get out.

Re: How to deal with gas pressure?HI. I havent had my TT AND INNER THIGH LIFTS YET , DUE JAN 12TH , but I do have or I should say had constant problems with my bowels.I have been too many Drs and tried many things but did finally find something too help me.I even had too go too hosp too have them help me afte rnot going for 9-10 days... I suggest getting FIBRE SMART , here in Canada we get it at the GNC store but Im sure any health food store could help u , BUT TRY TOO GET THE FIBRE SMART AS KICK OFFS ARENT AS GOOD , also I love the fibre one bars from grocery stores, if u like choc the ones with choc chips are the very best .They are high in fibre and very low in cal, and I eat 2 a day , and after u get these into you I promise youll be regualr and teh gas will go ,,with the fibre make sure u drink lots of water ....good luck
Re: How to deal with gas pressure?Girl I know exactly how you feel!!!!! I had a full TT, lipo galore and couldn't pass a BM for nearly 6 days! I started taking Senna on day 3, didn't work. Finally on day 5 (after having severe gas pains and I felt so bloated!) I had my DH run to the drug store and ask the pharmacist for advice. He told my dh to buy suppositories, which he did. I used them (it took 3 attempts) and finally kicked in. I'd definitely suggest something with a stool softener!
Best of luck to you! BL, BA & Lipo 2/20/08

Re: How to deal with gas pressure?
I completely agree with this!! You need to go to the bathroom...that was ONE thing my surgeon STRESSED after this surgery. You do NOT want to be straining after having had the surgery! You need to get stool softeners and probably a few enemas. You will feel SO much better once you have a BM.
