involuntary morning stretching

involuntary morning stretching

Postby summer_girl » Fri Dec 16, 2005 11:37 am

I am 7 weeks post op today. Every morning and even during the night for the last 3 weeks or so my legs and torso do this weird involuntary stretch. I can't stop it or conrol it. At first it feels great then the area where my mr was done contracts and pulls. Has anyone else experienced this? It is so strange. I have never had this happen before my surgery.

I'm 4 months and it still happens every morning.

I like it though, but beleive it or not, it still hurts a little in the upper MR, but I've got probs in that area, so that may be the reason it still hurts a bit.

Everything else though, at this stage, is primo! I've had minimal swelling all along, stood straight finally at 4 weeks and my incision is doing great.

I feel great too.

Just gotta get through the stitch issue, I have a post about that somewhere in here. LOL

Postby masaya » Fri Dec 16, 2005 4:58 pm

Yes this happens to me every morning as I wake up, my feet then my legs and abdomen spasm....very weird. I would really like to understand why this happens. I am 5 weeks PO and this started at around 3 weeks.

I have this same involuntary stretching too. I keep intending to ask my PS about this .... (sigh).

Could one of our wonderful PS's that post here comment on why this stretching occurs???

This totally happens to me every morning. I'm 8 wks post op FTT/MR.

Its crazy that your body can do this all by it self but I guess your body knows what you need. And that is to stretch.

You guys read my mind or predict what is going to happen so accurately...

I had this stretch for the first time this morning. I was just waking and it felt sooooo good then all of a sudden it didn't feel good anymore. Woke me up completely. I was able to understand and relax. Thank you for the prewarnings!!!!
