New Costa Rica Tummy Tuck Picture Album

New Costa Rica Tummy Tuck Picture Album

Postby tlc4me » Tue Sep 14, 2010 9:24 pm

I'm two months post tummy tuck and upper back lift. Just uploaded 14 pictures. Still some swelling, of course, but I think I've been healing well. Does it look "on track" to you more experienced TT'rs? I notice the swelling most just above incision and over the pubic bone. Is the poofiness just above the incision normal at this point?

I must say you look incredible!! You must be so pleased with your results and feel like a new woman! The puffiness you are experiencing is most definitely swelling. If will all come down in time.

Wow, that's an amazing transformation! And you look great. I think your swelling looks very normal......most of my swelling was in the areas you described.....around the incision and pubic bone. I'm 3 months post op and my swelling is just starting to go down, but I know that some people experience it for even longer.

Thank you, Snowshoe, it's nice to know I'm in the "normal" range for two months.

You are just one month ahead of me, which makes it nice to see you looking so good. Your waist looks so tiny! Your doctor gave you a great shape - from every angle!

Yes, I've even read of people saying that their worst swelling was at 6 months! A few friends just over a year post op have said that they just recently noticed they do not experience any swelling any more.

tess - thank you so much! I really appreciate the sincere compliment. Yes, I feel so much better since all my lifts!

I don't really feel brave at all. Desperation spurred my research, and my research eased my fears. None of my procedures were particularly painful. Some temporary discomfort, tightness, bruising (the usual), but I felt great coming out of the recovery room, and had totally positive experiences with aftercare and healing both summers.

You asked about face lift costs. Others might wonder about the cost of other procedures in Costa Rica, so I'll list my doctor's rates for the ones I had:

$2,755 face lift, cheeks, and neck lift
$1,765 forehead lift
$1,325 upper/lower eyelids lift
$ 950 lip lift/aug
$2,800 rhinoplasty
$4,410 breast lift w/implants (anatomical) exchange
$2,800 back lift w/underarm tightening
$3,745 tummy tuck 2/flanks lipo

Also, keep in mind that this is all inclusive; he has his own FDA approved surgical clinic so there is no extra charge for surgery room fee or anesthesia, and price includes one overnight stay in his surgical clinic. In addition, he offers a 10%
cash discount (cash or traveler's check), but will accept credit cards without a discount. The discount saved me several thousand dollars, on top of the huge amount I'd already saved for surgery abroad.

Excellent aftercare facilities, which include nursing care, 3 meals, laundry, internet, airport and doctor transportation run about $100-$150 a day. Medical tourism has now surpassed coffee as Costa Rica's #1 industry.

your facelift is a dramatic change you where an attractive women before hand just aging the facelift brings out your youthfull appearance. With that being said. How has your friends and family reacted. Are you married? If single has it made a difference in your love life.

I am really focused on my looks Im not shallow by far I am a very strong independent women but I love to always look my best. I don't need a face lift now im 41. Last night my mom called said her new friend who met me wanted to know how much older my little sister is then me. Mind you my little sister is 10 years younger. lol

I swear I am not going to go down with a fight! anyway I always said if I need a face lift Im going to get it. But when I searched some facelifts to my horror some women had alot of problems. I just had a tummy tuck and ended up having a gulf size whole on my insicion line because of an infection. It's healing I may have a scar but when I think of getting an infection on my face and having a scar that scares me.

When you searched facelift did you search alot what was your experience with that.

Thanks

Thanks, Tess.

I did have a lot of positive reaction to my face lift. A week or two after returning home I had to go to some staff trainings (I'm a teacher). When I walked in, I could just see the jaws drop, like they were thinking "Is that Terri? How is that possible?" I had been married for seven years to my second husband when I got the face lift last year. Within two years after we married I was post-menopausal, and the decrease in my skin elasticity over the next five years was pretty dramatic. Like you, I had always tried to look my best. During my life I had been mostly slender, and felt fairly attractive. But the last few years before my face lift, trying to look my best required increasingly more time, effort, and money......for less and less reward. At work, while "looking my best", people thought I was sad, tired or mad. After some of them got to know me, (we moved from California to Arkansas so my husband could retire)they shared some of those first impressions with me. My young students thought I was angry with them if I didn't have a smile plastered on my face constantly. I hated that, especially. Finally, I really did feel as sad as I appeared to look. I began to research face lifts, which I was determined to get - but thought I would have to save for several years. It was a joyful day for me when my husband said, "Why don't you find out what it would take to get it done this summer?"

Yes, the research can be intimidating, and the more you learn, the more you find out there is to learn. Possible complications are scary, but important to learn about. Once I had researched enough to communicate with a lot of people who were happy with their surgery results, I began to feel more confidence in my chances for a good result.

My husband has been supportive, without giving me the message that he thought I needed surgery. He reminded me that he loved me as I was, that he had married me in this body. But I would remind him that this wasn't the face and body I had when we married; I just wanted my real face back, and I wanted my skin to fit me again. After surgery, I knew he thought I looked great, but I could tell he didn't want to imply (by effusive compliments and expressions of disbelief) that I didn't look good before.

I've had no infections or complications with any of my procedures.

Well, I'm falling asleep here, but I'll be happy to answer any more questions later.

Terri

I find your photos stunning and very happy for you. I just read your post and can here it in your words the pain you felt.
I had my tummy tuck for that reason. I spent this whole past summer wearing a girdle even if I had a little tank top on.

I had this girdle and I would put the sleeves on but my boobs over the top of it to make my boobs look perky and my tummy look flatter. IT WAS PAINFULL!

LOL LOL LOL

I am not kidding you got a do what you got to do to look good. And I always looked great but the problem is I could not find another girdle that had that much hold or looked that good on me so I wore the same girdle the whole summer. YUK!

I said enough is enough! I have been thinking about a tummy tuck/breast lift for years but I just could not give reason to spending that kind of money when I have children.

Two of my kids are now over 18 and two are younger and I just started to think I need to do something for me that is going to make me happy. I am single and though I have a pretty face the girl with the nice body always gets the look.
I had one of those bodies that everything looked normal and then I had a huge tire around my stomach.

Trust me I here othere women say they had a big stomach and I look at thier pictures before hand and they tummies look like something I wish for. Truely I had a huge tire! lol

Now since my tt my body looks even and I even have curves! I feel like a women.

Have you ever had injections if so what do you think about them?

just love your photos and your post so happy for you. Your a teacher maybe you should write a book on your journey.
I found when searching info on plastic surgery thier is not alot of information out here. More so when people have problems its hard to find photos on that its like no one wants to see that. I ended up having an infrection and could not find anyone with the same problems as me. Except openly on this forum? Strange

Tess,

It is wonderful to be able to wear tops and not have to rip them off as soon as I look behind. I just couldn't tolerate those back under-bra rolls.

I'm so glad you allowed yourself to get the TT. We may suffer pain to have our children, but that doesn't mean we have to experience the painful evidence of it for the rest of our lives!

I never have had any injections. Fillers scare me, but I would love to find something safe and effective to fill out the cheekbones. Mine are a little flatter now than shows in my avatar. I know a lot of people who have had butt aug with fat injections that are happy, but I think I'd rather build em up with squats if I can. There's always padded underwear!
