Same here. Mine were the worst in the first 2 weeks, I think that the pain meds mess with our body's "thermostat." I would swing from chills to sweats so much, we jokingly called it my malaria. The I went through a period of just being cold all the time, I think that was partly due to body healing and partly due to having lost so much "insulation" (fat).
It's still somewhat an issue, not much, but I dress in layers for work and for sleeping, and am often putting something on or taking something off. When I wake up in the morning there is a pile of socks, PJ's and sweaters next to the recliner!
OMG - This is me the last 1.5 weeks!!!! I thought I was crazy, talked to a few people, and they all said I was starting menapause!! I actually went to the natural health food store and bought black cohosh yesterday. It is a perimenapausal supplement. There are AM and PM capsules - took the first one last night. WOW - too funny!! Well, I am hoping this helps - but do I really need to be taking supplements then?? Yikes!!! I knew I wan't old enough!!!!!!!!! ) I am 45 going on 46 years YOUNG!!!!!
I am 30 post-op. I am still sweating at night. It was really bad when I was taking pain meds around the clock. I just take one at night because I have such pain on my hips still. I was thinking it was just that. But I also sweat when I walk around to much. I think its just my body trying to heal itself.
I had those for sure. They weren't just at night. I had a cool rag plus cold packs that I used for my boob swell and would put that on my forehead once in a while. I also loved my warming bag for my feet. They were soooo cold no matter how sweaty hot my head was. I just wish I had got that warming bag before the three week mark.
Hi again - so I have been thinking about this, is it coincidence (menapause) or just the body from surgery healing? Could it be possible they are truly pre menapausal or is it just healing? Well.... I guess it will take time, wait and see if they just stop?? I sure hope so! Wishing you all well!! )
