Dr. Orlando Figueroa Cerpa

Dr. Orlando Figueroa Cerpa

Postby starry1st » Mon Sep 24, 2007 8:43 am

Hi everyone. I'm new and have been researching PS in MX for a while now and have been over at PSJ for a few months. I've gotten quotes from Cosmed (because they seem to be the most popular) and found Dr. Orlando Figueroa Cerpa, so wrote to him. His prices are much better and he is board certified. Now all I need is someone to talk with who has used him and that seems to be the wall I'm running into right now.

I will consult with 2 or 3 surgeons once I can narrow it down to those 2 or 3.

I plan on having a LBL BA/BL and face lift with lipo to my waist. I'm willing to stay in the San Diego area for a month or longer.

If anyone knows anything about Dr. Orlando Figueroa Cerpa, please respond or email me at starry1st at yahoo.com

I'd really appreciate some help as this is all so confusing and a big undertaking to plan at the same time.

Hi Tina.. thanks so much. His work looks great and his prices are great too, I'm surprised that no one has used him.

I've written to him and he's given me a quote, now I'm waiting to schedule a consult with him and Dr. Fuentes. I've heard so many good things about Dr. Fuentes but it will be reassuring to me to actually have a preliminary consult.

Try doing a search with his name in it. Also look to see if he has been reviewed in the MMH physician's directory

Thanks Listener. He's not listed in the physicians directory. His name is mentioned several times in older posts (May 07) but those people don't seem to be posting these days. I did try contacting them through email but nothing back from them, unfortunately. They say he's great and they were very happy with him but I would like to talk to them, personally, ya know???

I have spoken to people about Dr. Fuentes and Dr. Campos and their reps are spotless. I'd just like to have another option besides Cosmed that I could count on being great. I think narrowing it down to 2 or 3 surgeons makes it less confusing. I do intend to have consults prior to deciding which PS I want to go with.

Word of mouth info is very good and so are "gut" feelings and who I'm most comfortable with......I intend to use all resources available to me to make this important decision.

You might try the Plastic Surgery Journeys website, which represents and reviews out of the country plastic surgeons.

The rest of this you probably won't want to read, but I have not posted it in awhile....

Not to be critical of ANY doctor, here or elsewhere, but a big surgery with lots of possible postop issues many months after the procedure is just not a good thing to do overseas.

Read through the boards here...many patients have important questions and issues that require the surgeon's input weeks and months later. Seromas, scar issues, BB problems, etc. are not ucommon after these kinds of surgeries. They happen REGARDLESS of surgeon skill and experience.

The key is to have your PS readily available to help. This prevents little prblems from becoming big ones.

A TT is one of the biggest PS procedures done, with the highest risk profile (except an LBL).

The low prices are nice, but you don't get what you don't pay for in terms of postop care and long term followup.

Add that to the fact that there is no equivalent board-certification process overseas, you have no insurance coverage, no legal protection, and would have to travel for revisions if needed.

If you have made provisions for followup care at home, then of course some of these concerns are lessened.

It's time I query the board members here to see if they would be comfortable not seeing the plasic surgeon who performed their procedure after 2-3 weeks.

Please choose carefully,

Dr. J Lo thank you for your reply! I would never do such an invasive proceeduer overseas. Too many possbilities of complications later.
