Permanent Swelling

Permanent Swelling

Postby Quasimodo » Thu Feb 16, 2012 9:33 am

Hello Everyone:

I had a question regarding post surgery swelling.

Back in 2008 had an adominalplasty. The surgeon "lifted" my pubic area. I think she injected fat in the area rather than lift it. Now I have the "Ken doll" look. It hasn't gone down and I'm embarrassed to wear anything that is close fitting. There is a very obvious bulge there.

Is there anything I can do to make this less obvious? I will need lots of suggestion details and not vague answers, like brand names and specifics. Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Quasi

Hi Quasi,

Most likely what happened was not that she injected fat, but that since you became tight and flat above, that your mons area now stood out more, giving the Ken look. Perhaps what you needed was lipo to the mons area.

The "lift" comes naturally with a TT, as they lift the skin from below and pull from above. Everybody has that with a TT.

I don't think she would actually do a FG without telling you. It is, however, not uncommon at all for people to need lipo to the area, but they don't realize this when their abdomen was big/loose. They only notice it after, in comparison.

Annie:

Hmm... You could be right.

I had the TT done already and she,the surgeon, was lipoing my waistline and she said she was going to "lift" my mons area. I couldn't figure out what she was talking about since the abdominalplasty surgery had already been done.

The mons area is DEFINITELY larger and fuller than it was prior to the lipoing and abdominalplasty. That's why I thought the surgeon added fat to the area after lipoing it from my waistline per her "lifting" the mons.

She, the surgeon, was a little disenchanted with the lipo outcome because she couldn't take anything off my waistline. I didn't have a lot of fat in the area as she had assessed I had prior to her procedure.

Quasi, were you having FG to the butt at that time?

When you say you had the TT earlier, do you mean at an earlier date, or that she finished the TT part and was now doing the lipo?

Can you call the doctor or email to find out just what was done? Seems so strange that a ps would do fg there without your consent, but if she were already doing fg to other areas I guess it makes a little more sense.

I have never heard of this happening before, but that doesn't mean you can't be the first I've heardof. Just sounds crazy she would do that!

No, no fg to the buttocks. She doesn't do any sort of buttock surgery.

I've had a falling out with the surgeon, hence my search for another surgeon to correct the first surgery.

This particular surgeon, the first one, is being sued currently. Incidentally, I asked for pictures of myself and the office sent me pictures of another patient!

I do not want to contact the office any more, but after my tt surgery I was in getting lipo and the surgeon said she was going to "lift" my mons. I was wondering because the tt surgery was over. I trusted her and now I have a bump where my mons was flat before and after surgery and I have a bump now post lipo with her.

Doesn't make sense, but I can't figure out how the "lift" was done after the cutting was already done, but with lipo, fat can be added where it was removed.

Hmmm, well it is definitely sounding like she might have indeed put fat into there, thinking this would take up any slack and lift it I guess?

Thank you so much for explaining how everything went, and so sorry for what you've gone through with all this.

I don't know what to suggest to try to hide it, other than going in for lipo now. Although I would definitely want to make sure that all swelling is absolutely gone. I know it has been a while now, though. Does it always stay the same size?

I'm sorry Quasi, that you are unhappy and dealing with this. :(

Hi Quasie. i had my TT,MR lipo to the mons 10 weeks ago. After the SX my PS tells me he never had to do lipo to the mons he just lifted it. So my scar has a flat line across the top of the mons. I never liked my mons always seemed too big. I can't really tell if it has been lifted yet as that is where i have only had the swelling. I hope you can find a PS to fix your worries. So sorry your going through this, with the trust and money we give these PS's, some times it just isn't fair the way some seem to be in it just for the $$

Annie and Wernie:

Thank you for your sympathies.

I'm 1,000% positive that the swelling is gone, but the size of my mons is the same. This is really terrible to say, but I wonder if the first PS did this on purpose to me. She was very demeaning to me from the first meeting, but she seemed so confident and spoke like she knew what she was doing.

Something that should have raised a red flag for me was that she demanded a cashier's check for her services, even though she had credit card signs in her office and we originally talked about paying with a credit card. It was a little fishy, but I've never had surgery before, so I didn't question her.

I do know of a great surgeon who fixed some of the bad results from the first surgeon (hugmongust breasts, 36 HH and I after breast surgery with the first surgeon). The second surgeon is wonderful and I might seek her out for lipo of the mons area.

A few weeks ago I was on vacation and I wore a tight dress and my mons was sticking out like I was hiding a penis or something. I was really embarrassed. The male host of a restuarant kept looking at my crotch area.

Ah, Quasi I am so sorry. Please do call that PS that helped you before. This should be an easy procedure, fast and not much downtime I would think. Definitely put an end to your embarrassment and suffering.

You know, that does all sound so fishy with that first PS. Hindsight though, as we are not really trained to look for these things. We tend to trust our doctor and just do it. Unfortunately it often takes something like this to make us more aware and wary next time. :(

Please let us know how this goes and what you decide. I wish you the best of luck.

Hi Annie:

Thank you.

I am considering calling the second PS and inquiring about lipoing the area.

When I was wearing the form fitting dress, I was so embarrassed that I carried my purse in front of me, covering my crotch area.

I will definitely let you know what transpires.

A surgeon I saw for a consult said he could lipo the mons area. Apparently, he saw some "fat" there too and it wasn't just my imagination, LOL.

HOWEVER, he said he could use the old drain holes from the scars from the tummy tuck I had done prior to the "lifting". The drain holes are healing so nicely and are barely noticable. I've been using the microneedling and it's helped in that area.

I wish there was another way to do this, but perhaps the lipo holes won't be so big and will heal nicely, quickly and will look as good as they do now, same color and small.

This is embarrassing.

Just last month my dad said to me, "What are you going to do about HIM," point to my mons.

Hi Quasi,
I think you will find MANY people have this problem... as Annie said you notice it because your tummy is nice and flat. The Mons issue was always there... you just didnt notice it before.
I had my TT about three years ago and as everything settled down and looked fabulous I was disappointed with the 'big fat Mons'!
I have just had mine reduced and I am extremely happy now... my PS actually surgically reduced it.. she did not use Lipo... went through the same TT incision.
So go for it... you will be much happier and no longer self conscious in tight fitting clothes.
Good luck.
