I'm SO excited about pre-op tomorrow!! I'm trying to figure out what undies to wear (so not important, but still!) And I've already had some blood work done and an EKG. So what should I remember to ask about.... It seems like I always forget to ask about something important! Is there anything you vets wish you'd had asked?
Wish I could have helped you out but I'm in the same position as you....I was going to actually ask the same question as you but I figured since you asked I didn't have to....My pre-op is this Friday and I'm sooo nervous that I'm going to forget to ask something important. Hope your appointment goes good and you get in all the important questions!!
Hi! Thanks for responding... I think these boards are a little cliquey... My preop was actually really good! I'm so excited about surgery now. My doctor said I should be the poster child for their practice because my attitude is so positive. He even said he'd like to do some lipo at no cost to me so that I'll get the best results. I'm nervous about the lipo, but I trust my doctor. I didn't end up really asking him anything because he was so thorough. Taking the before pics was a little embarrassing but not too bad. I hope your appt. goes just as smoothly! Good luck!

Free lipo? Wow, you really scored there. My lipo cost me $2000!
I hated the pics taking part of my pre-op, but I know it had to be done. My surgeon was thorough as well and I mainly asked questions related to the information they provided. GL with your surgery next week. I can't believe I'm already 8wks postop!
As nice as it was that my doc offered the lipo... I'm really nervous about it! I wasn't planning on having any and now I'm scared! Is it really painful? I didn't have any tests done at my pre op but last week the surgery center sent me to have an EKG and blood tests. I don't think everyone has too, but since I mentioned having sleep apnea (before I lost 50 lbs.) they just wanted to make sure everything was ok. One thing I did ask about was how long to wear the binder, and he said 2 weeks during the day minimum and I don't have to wear it while sleeping. After 2 weeks he said to just play it by ear.
For me, the lipod areas were/are painful. I'm still taking ibuprofen at night, occasionally. In my mind I kind of knew what to expect with the incision and muscle repair. But I had no idea what to expect for the lipo. Those areas are unique. On the inside it feels very tender and painful, like someone knocked me around with a baseball bat during surgery. On the outside, it feels very hard. Not hard, like swollen, but firm. I still have firm areas from the lipo. And sometimes, if I move the wrong way too quickly, I feel a slight burning sensation that last maybe 2 seconds. Despite all that, I would still have gotten the lipo. It has made as much an impact on my figure as the TT itself.
gennalea, Your description of the lipo experience was great, Thanks! I'm still nervous, but I do think my overall results will be better and I wasn't about to turn it down if it's on the house! I originally decided against it because it was over $2000 more!
