An update on me!!

An update on me!!

Postby jobragidi » Sat May 21, 2011 7:30 pm

Hi everyone

So for those that might not remember,I went and got a second opinion on my poochy 5 month pregnant belly in a different state after two failed FTT's with MR and I was told I had a diastisis again and that it cannot be fixed even with surgery HAHAHA. They were worse than the answers I got here.

Anyway I decided against getting another surgery because I didn't really want mesh and I am super duper worried that I will just end up with the same outcome as the others so...I decided to try the tupler technique.

I have been doing the tupler technique with splinting for 2 weeks now and I cannot believe the difference it has made already.

I have lost an inch off my waist already and I no longer have a pooch,I am super flat. I also have an innie belly button and the BEST part is......I can no longer make the midline bulge, how awesome is this.

So I intend to do keep doing the tupler technique for another 4 weeks with the splinting and excersises and see what happens after that.

I will post pre and updates pictures from doing this technique soon.

Have an awesome day/night everyone!!

Hi all,

To the worried ladies, please dont work yourselves up,apparently it is quite rare for an MR to come undone,i just happened to be one of those cases. I knew both times by 4 weeks something wasn't right and definitely knew it wasn't swelling by 6 weeks,it was my own body and i knew something wasn't right.

It wont let me add an "after tummy tuck, before tupler technique picture",so if u want to see before look at my previous posts with attachments...

I'm so glad the tupler techinque is helping you!!!!

I went and looked it up...when i started reading it, the site said almost all abdominal exercise causes the separation, including planks and pushups. is this true????

i had heard that about crunches so i wasn't going to avoid doing those...but i wanted to really start doing pushups and planks (i'm not hitting 6 months po)...now i'm afraid to do any ab work.

any ideas on whether planks, and pushups are safe???? i didn't order the video so i don't know what exactly the techinque is. i sure would hate to create a separation by doing planks and pushups after going through surgery to fix the separation.

any advice would be appreciated!!!

Hi Sarah

Planks and pushups are fine but they say not to do flat planks early on because all your internal organs are then resting on your abs. They say to start with wall planks or leaning half up on a couch if that makes sense. That isn't on the site but that's what I've read in tupler technique forum topics.

Sit ups and crunches are a definate no no! I suppose until your abs are completely closed.
We don't actually plank with the tupler technique. I lay on my back and pull my belly button in as far as it can go then kinda pulsate it back 100 times each time. I don't know how to describe it right. But so far it's working. :-)

I agree, although I'd say never do them again! After my MR separated, I started doing tons of research on what types of ab workouts I could safely do. NO WAY on crunches! I will never do them again. They actually work to make a diastasis worse.

You know, so often we learn so much when we have some kind of problem. Yours was much more severe than mine so no comparison, but we've both learned some valuable information to last us a lifetime, from doing research. (that's how I feel with the rebounding and all the health benefits other than swelling. If I had not been swelling at 15 months still, I never would have started that up).
