I have a friend who had a FTT 18 months ago and she has a scar that is a circle around her bb. I thought the scar would be tiny and inside the bb. What does yours look like and is my friends scar normal?
There is a close up photo of my belly button scar in my album (signature). It is a circle, but not very noticeable and I'm only 3 weeks post op. My surgeon says that it will fade and pull in to the belly button a little more when the swelling is completely gone. I'm not worried about it. I love it!
Mine is kind of like an arched window shape about 2cm from my BB. I'm 5 weeks PO and it's very purple and noticeable. I think it's gonna take quite a long time to go where I'm happy enough to wear a bikini. At the moment, I'm not at all happy with it
My bb was a red for many months, it has since faded quite a lot, my tt was over a year ago now, I do have scarring above bb, there are raised white lines around the top of my bb. To be honest do not think will get any better now. I go the gym a lot these days and not bothered if it gets noticed, it doesnt look that bad after all.
I had no visible scar to start off with for at least 3 weeks. But wen my stitches were taken out and even more stitches at 6 weeks (kept finding more) my BB started to widen and the stitches became more visible. Mine isn't a perfect circle round my BB but you can see about 5 little scars around it at the moment. I am nearly 3 months and my scaring in purple and angry but I am thrilled with it now and no it will only get better.
One of the reasons I chose my PS was his belly button technique. He does the stitching inside it. Right now I still have the stitches but they are IN, not around it. I love it so far (and I was really worried about this- like my old BB!) so I'm hopeful that once it's healed it looks as good.
My scar is also a thin line around my bb. I feel like it screams "I've had a TT!" I asked for a good bb at the time of surgery but I wasn't specific enough. I'd ask for inside stitches if I were considering a TT. That said, I'm very happy with TT overall.
Dayladypam - Had a quick peek at your pics and I don't think your bb looks like you've had sx, just looks like a pretty bb to me, and trust me, doing my pre -tt research, I've seen 100's of tummy buttons. I hope mine turns out like yours x
