Would my surgery for a Full Tummy Tuck be cancelled under these circumstances, I am worried as I have been counting down to this day for months?

at my Pre-op Friday the nurse told me that if I were to get sick (even a cold) between now and surgery, they would likely reschedule. Just call them in the morning first thing (unless you are supposed to be there first thing - then I would go ahead and go in)

Good luck and I hope you feel better fast and they can still safely keep you on schedule...

I think you should be good to go. I could be wrong, but I think mostly they just don't want you having a fever.

I had my sx scheduled for a Tuesday and starting getting a cold on the Friday night before. First thing Monday morning I called the ps office and they had me come in that morning determined it was a head cold gave me a rx for a steriod told me to start it that day and skip sx day and then continue it till finished after sx. Let me say this the steriod worked wonders I felt better by mid-day but I went ahead with the sx and developed a terrible cough as a result of the cold it is really hard and extemely painful to constantly cough after having this sx. Obviously I made it through but it really hurt to cough and when the sneezing started I thought I would die. So if you aren't coughing or sneezing and it's not in your chest I would go ahead if after they examine you they clear you for sx like my ps did but if you are coughing and sneezing know that it will be more painful after sx even with pain meds. Whatever you decide I wish you the best of luck you will be in my thoughts and prayers that you feel better in the morning and the coughing and sneezing are not an issue for you.

Thanks for your replies...I have been waiting so long for this day and it upsets me to think it would have to reshedualed :( with my and hubby annual leave all arranged and it would be very hard to pencil in another date

I sleot most of the day and my nose is now unblocked, I have been drinking plenty of fluids and orange juice and feel much better :) I still have a runny nose buts thats about it now...Praise God

So I am booked in for 6 am its 2pm the day before, I think just going to turn up for my surgery I think and go from there, if they are concerend I guess they will let me know. Do you really think its important I call this afternoon for a runny nose??

I am going to keep pumping the fluids in me and get a really good sleep tonight, If I call now I am worried they would cancell me when I might be feeling really well in the morning

I am not coughing or sneezing just a paritally blocked which makes me sound sick and a mildy runny nose, I am not on any pain meds for it, its completly manageable...I remember after having my children by c section how painful it was to cough and sneeze I assume this would feel quite a bit worse ouch!

Good luck tomorrow! I would not worry about it at this point. Just be honest and let them know exactly what is going on. If you don't have a fever, they will probably go through with it.

When you feel up to it let us know how it all went okay?
