I just had it done by Dr Alinsod in laguna beach, it was $1700 dollars. I was really impressed by him and his office staff. He does a different technique and uses lasers. Dr Alter uses the wedge technique which can tear and is more prone to need revisons. I also liked that he does it under local

Your original question was about CLITOROPEXY - not labiaplasty. I had both performed by Dr. Alter last May. The two surgeries are completely different. Yes, he uses the wedge technique for labiaplasty, but theres not such thing as the wedge when talking about clitoropexy. Rather than quoting what he describes on his web page, just google him and read about it. I paid 9500 for both - And insurance only paid 800

AHH! Almost ten thousand dollars?!?!?!?!
I wanted to go to Dr. Alter as well, but if that's the case I'll be saving up until I'm ninety!

labiaplasty

what were the results of your surgery with dr alter? i am curious as i am beginning to read negative things about his surgery results. i am interested in getting labiaplasty and clitoralplasty (clit reduction and hood reduction). i am a little scared about the nerve endings getting damaged. has anyone else had clitorplexy by dr alter or any other doctor? it sounds risky...thoughts??

Clitoropexy is a technically more difficult operation than labiaplasty, and yes, it usually includes surgery on the hood, as well.

This procedure doesn't really "reduce " the clitoris, by cutting any of it off. It works by "tucking" the clitoris deeper into the body, so less of it is left sticking out of the body.

There are different surgical ways of doing this, but all the present day techniques avoid cutting the important nerves that provide sensitivity to the clitoris. If the sensitivity is decreased after a properly performed cliteropexy, it should return to normal when healing is complete. Dr. Alter is an excellent plastic surgeon, and I'm sure his method of clitoropexy, likewise, preserves normal clitoral sensitivity.

Hope this helps... :)

Dr Alter, does offer clitoral reduction (glans/shaft) with Clitoropexy. (Check his site). Noone really talks much about having had this done though, Dr Alter says he has performed these operations a lot. Apparently if your clit is on the larger side you may need the glans/shaft reduced (sounds risky) when having clitoropexy to enable the stitches to hold!?! Has anyone had it done?
