Did anyone heard about Labiaplasty with Pamela Loftus??

Just wondering if anyone heard anything about Pamela Loftus or had a surgery withe her. She has over 20 years of experience. Her pictures looks great, one of the best i've seen.
Trying to chose between her or dr. Alter, prices about the same, the only thing is she use local anesthesia, afraid it will hurt a lot...

Labiaplasty so far so good with Dr. Pamela Loftus!

Postby Dooris1 » Sun Oct 26, 2008 3:29 pm

Hi: I just had labiaplasty with Dr. Loftus last Friday. I am just post op 3 days and she is very thorough! She knit picks about everything and in a good way! Very strict instructions and she isn't cheap, but was NO pain at all and I had very large extra labia. I am in my late forties and suffered my entire life with large labia and poor self esteem. I exercise constantly and don't smoke/drink and eat good and take multivitamins before your surgery. Afterwards, she insists on 'pressure' constant on your mons area and it is uncomfortable, but I am hardly swollen considering. Some bleeding first day and stitches do pinch a bit, but I alternate a tight girdle panty she insists on and air it some with loose panties in the evening. Only pain first night and I just used rapid release tylenol. NO narcotics. she puts you on antibiotics immediately. So far it looks great, 10 times prettier :) I won't know about scars or long term sensitivety for a while? but seems like it will heal just fine. If labiaplasty is something you have thought about for years and years...I would say she would be a good doctor to use for your surgery. Very caring. I'm crossing my fingers,. Good luck with your decision!~

Dr Loftus sounds good, looking from results perspective.
However I recall speaking with her in 2004, she was extremely rude/arrogant, I just wondered if it was at all Dr Loftus, this really deterred me from seeking her service.
I am glad to hear a happy patient. May I ask how long it took for you to be up and about, i.e normal chores, like shopping walking vigorously.

Depending on how far you wish to travel I recommend Dr. Gruenwald in Louisiana. He posts on this board some, cgmd.

I traveled from out of town to see Dr. Pamela Loftus for a labiaplasty. I spoke at length with her very educated receptionist before scheduling an appointment (which required pull payment in prior, nonrefundable) just to find out there was no receptionist. Dr. Loftus was faking as her own receptionist!!! She had absolutely NO STAFF! Not even a nurse or front desk assistant. Her husband collected my money! I couldnt believe it. And although my subjective opinions of her being extremely rude, condescending, degrading---rude comments and implications and being bizarrely paranoid--talking about malpractice suits and making me sign every line of /contract, my objective observation cannot be denied. SHE EVEN DIDNT HAVE STIRRUPS ON THE BED DURING MY SURGERY!!! I had to awkwardly hold my own legs and feet in place the entire time---while getting yelled out for moving them!!! Whoa, my experience screamed unprofessional and I am glad to see people reaching out for reviews before getting locked in before traveling long distances (she required full payment prior to scheduling which was non refundable). Do your homework and trust others' experiences. Best of luck. By the way, after more than one labiaplasty, my labia are still asymmetrical. What a terrible experience. Find a surgeon with a staff and stirrups at the very least.

Please take my advise and benefit from my suffering with "doctor" Loftus. I went to her 5 years ago after being taken in by her expertly done web-site and her emails. At that point I had already had breast augmentation, tummy tuck, rhinoplasty and jaw implants, by three separate surgeons based on their specialties and they all would comment on how tough I was and had this amazingly high pain threshold etc. When I arrived in Florida at her office it was apparent that she is not often there. I believe her husband was performing the duties of her receptionist- cashier, and quickly took my cash.

Then he sends my into her office. She told me to go into the restroom and put this numbing cream on my labia. She was not a personable woman by any means and that is ok, we all have our personalities but if someone is a bit apprehensive and you are being mean and cold, I find that strange. When she took me into her so called, operating room, which was just a simple exam room and told me she was going to cut off my vagina lips while I am completely awake, not even a xanax or a vicodin!!! I realized why she acts the way she does... because she knows she is doing something so wrong and unethical that she is just getting by with idiots like me. She began to cut and I could feel pain and told her and she said that some discomfort was normal but she was lying, this was like torture! She quickly finished and sent me away. I waited outside this scummy office for my taxi and went to my hotel for what was the most painful 6 hours of my entire life! I made it until 3 am and called her, sobbing and in pain, asking for some pain medicine and she tells me that I do not need it, that plain aleve will suffice! I had to end up taking a taxi to the emergency room where there gave me a shot of pain medicine and a prescription for strong pain medicine. Three doctors came into see me in the emergency room to tell me that I should report her for what she does and that I was not the first and would not be the last woman to suffer NEEDLESSLY because of her ruthlessness.

Holy hell. So sorry to hear you went through that! That is awful. No one should ever have to go through an experience like that. Some doctors should not be practicing at all.

Oh thank you for being sympathetic, it is very nice of you. Yes, a lot of my friends said I should have been more careful, I should have done this or that and I agree with them wholeheartedly but I must say in my own defense that I did try and research her on an open and unbiased forum like this but unfortunately had no replies. I searched her on the web and found her own site to be very persuasive and the fake receptionist. . . aka Loftus herself was very professional and that made me feel at ease. Also, I was paying her 3 times what my sister paid her surgeon in TJ so I assumed I would get a better result and experience. My bestie said, "Well why did you go thru with it?" Well, it was not like a NORMAL office, I had traveled 1800 miles, and I really wanted this fixed since I was an 11 year old little girl. So, after I get there and her husband takes my cash quickly and I go back to meet this crazy paranoid weirdo, I am thinking...omg if i still had my cash i would leave now. I could certainly tell that she was not about to give my one dime back, I knew this. I thought I could handle it not knowing it would be as horrible as it was. I am a professional woman (microbiologist) and do not have a mean or violent bone in my body, but I tell you if I were to pass Loftus on the street whilst vacationing with my family in Florida, I would kick her a** with all I have, and pay whatever consequences may follow. That is how bad it was.

I made an account just to reply to this thread. I had labiaplasty done by Pamela Loftus in July 2010, and like the californiaactress, I should have listened to my intuition when I first met her. I'm now 2.5 years post-op and I have significant scar tissue on one side. This summer, I'll need to have the tissue removed as recommended by my gyn. Pamela Loftus does not consult with patients prior to or after the procedure, which is just wrong. When I called her to ask about intense post-op itching, her response conveyed anger and annoyance. Basically, she dismissed my concerns, saying it wasn't her problem and that I should see me gyn. Turned out, I was unknowingly allergic to bacitracin, which she didn't consider.

She has a fake nurse who talks to you on the phone, but it's really just her pretending to be someone else! When I got to the office, "Mary, the nurse" was nowhere to be found and she sounds just like Pamela Loftus in person, surprise, surprise. Thinking about the warning signs makes me feel so stupid for allowing her (paying her even!) to touch my body. If I could do it all over again, I would have worked with a different doctor. Please, ladies, learn from my mistake and find a real surgeon to help you. Pamela Loftus is a fraud.

Isn't that crazy... I had this operation performed by Pamela Loftus in 2008 I think. Here we are in 2014, and it still haunts me enough that I decided to google her name today and see if there is anyone out there like me.

Dr. Loftus would not have a consultation before the surgery. She schedules a time with you on the phone, takes all your cash, and starts butchering you. Like the girls said above, I was shocked to learn that she PRETENDS to be her own receptionist. She makes up a fake name and even puts you on hold while she goes to get the doctor, which is really herself! It's the most bizarre, psychotic thing. She knows what she's doing. Once you're there and you see this disgusting office and what an unethical psychopath she is, it's too late.... You've taken your pre-op medicines, you've purchased everything she told you to (gauze, girdles...), you've mentally prepared yourself, you've arranged a ride home, maybe you've bought airfare, and most of all, you've handed your money over. It's too late. You try to just convince yourself "well, she wouldn't still be practicing if she was all that bad" or "I'm sure it will be fine" or "Anyone who does this for a living is going to be a little kooky, it's fine!"..... The woman should be locked up. It's absolutely unacceptable that she is practicing.

I envy the women above who were only in pain for a day or a week. I promise you, it took months of excruciating pain and sensitivity. I had what felt like spasms in my labia, like little twitches, that lasted for about a year. I still get them from time to time. She tells you to sit on rolled up towels for weeks. She NEVER told me I wouldn't be able to go to school or work for a week. I guess if she had a consultation or any manners whatsoever, I would've known that. She's a crook, that's all there is to it.

Don't bother calling her on the phone with questions post-op, or to complain about pain. She literally scolded me! Hung up the phone on me!! Isn't this crazy?

Another terrible thing is that we had a long conversation while I was on the "operating table". I explained to her how I wanted to look afterwards. She insisted on cutting much, much more than I wanted. We actually argued for 20 minutes over how much she would remove. Why on Earth I argued with my surgeon for 20 minutes over the most important physical decision of my life, and then went through with it, I will never know! I was young (20) and feeling incredibly vulnerable at that point. We signed an agreement that she would respect my wishes and cut less, but she did not.

The feeling of going home, peeling back the gauze, and discovering this was the most violated, stomach-dropping feeling of my life. I felt I had been castrated, and the mental anguish I suffered afterwards was just unbearable. A lot of regret and guilt.

I did my research, too. I went to Loftus because my girlfriend did, and my girlfriend was satisfied with her results. So that was my only solace. But boy do I wish I could go back in time.

As you can see, go somewhere else.
