I'm not the only one?? Yes, this is happening to me too. I'm only 6 days post op. My Dr. advised me to use a bottle with room temp water for the first couple of weeks while I peed. Simply pour a light stream directly below your belly button while you urinate. This should help control the flow to a straight stream and will also kind of clean the area a little.

My healing was doing fine up until yesterday when I developed a large blood clot outside my labia, near the stitches. I have an appt tomorrow morning which I am dreading. I was suppose to be back at work tomorrow (they just thought I had the flu) but now I don't know when I will be able to return. My swelling has gone done quite a bit but now I am just terrified to find out what is going on with this blood clot. Wish me luck. :(

That pee thing is happening for me too! I was worried that it would always be like this so I'm relieved to hear that it will go away. And good luck daisy, I hope everything is okay, keep us posted!

Okay.... everything went well. I saw my Dr today and he cleaned up the blood clot and said that I only lost a couple of stitches and that it was very superficial and should heal just fine. He does want to see me in his office tomorrow morning to see if I need to re-stitch the area. Thanks for your concern!

If it's happening to so many of us, I wonder why the Dr's don't mention that this could be one of the negatives about the surgery.

It's kinda like the inner labia funneled the urine straight down, now without the labia it's a free for all!

Wiping the back of my legs and butt off is definitely is not something I look forward to for the rest of my life!

peeing on self

Postby vllittlejohn » Sat Mar 07, 2009 7:09 am

OMG - I had a thigh lift and tons of swelling in the pubic area and peeing on myself has been a major issue! I mentioned it to the staff and they kind of chuckled and said it's normal and I also felt it was something that should have been addressed so I wouldn' have gotten so upset and worried. My doctor suggested using a cup to pee into until the swelling goes down. It's gross to have to do it but less gross then having wet garments and legs so that's my suggestion.
