labiaplasty - toronto cosmetic clinic

Postby porter4 » Fri Apr 10, 2009 6:33 pm

Hey all,

I've just started reading into this whole procedure and have found this site and everyones posts immensely helpful. They have given me a broad idea of what to expect when I go through with it. I really want to get it done but I'm so scared about having a bad experience and regretting it afterwards...Anyways, I live in toronto and have looked into a few places in the area. Has anyone ever had theirs done at the Toronto Cosmetic Clinic? I was told over the phone that they do a lot there, and every saturday is booked up with people getting the surgery. They even said many people fly in from all over Canada to go here, but I haven't found anyone online who has had theirs done at this clinic, or had shared their experience. I would be grateful for anyones input or experience with the toronto cosmetic clinic (if there are any). thanks a bunch!

Hey Porter4,
I live in Toronto as well and I got labiaplasty done about 5 months ago. After doing months of research, I went to Dr. Lista in Mississauga. Best decision I have ever made!!...He's board ceritfied specialist in plastic surgery in Canada and the United States. He has a lot of experiece in that department!!...the thing I love most about him, is that he's honest! He wont try to talk you into the surgery. His staff are so nice and they make you feel comfortable.
My surgery went very well. I was expecting to have seriouse pain but nothing. I didnt even need to take an advil. More than anything I'm very happy with the result!!...
I think you should go for a consultation and take it from there.
His phones numbers (905)278-7077
If you have any other questions let me know :)

hey, thanks for your reply! I did some internet researching on him too, and while he does sound like a really good surgeon, I asked about the wait times for the procedure and the receptionist said like 6 weeks to two months...presumably because he is such a good plastic surgeon, i'm sure he's busy with boob jobs and stuff lol. Anyways, thats cutting it pretty close to summer in my books, and I wanted to be able to be free and enjoy summer when it came. So I did book with the toronto cosmetic clinic, althouuuuuugh I still havent met the actual surgeon, and my pre op has been postponed until tomorrow, but I was told that if I do meet him this weekend (right before the surgery) and don't like him for any reason then I am welcome to not go foward with the procedure. In this case, that is if I meet the surgeon and for any reason do not feel comfortable with him doing the procedure, I will likely go to Dr. Lista, but wait until the summer is over so that I don't have any down time during it. On a side note, I read some reviews about him and a lot of people said he was rude and stuff :S...not that their personality equals the quality of their work, but I don't know how comfortable I'd feel if someone were rude to me anwyays. Heres hoping everything goes ok with the place i've chosen, I'll keep you posted :)

Hi Porter4, I also had my labiaplasty in Toronto by Dr Wanzel this past February. He did a fantastic job. I have since been to my family doc and she said it looks perfect! His prices are also quite reasonable. He teaches some of the U of T PS residents so he is also very well-qualified; I would recommend him for sure. Any more questions and I'd be happy to fill you in!

hey, I ended up having mine done there...but by a different person??? which is weird. He also works at U of T. Dr. Giannoulis or something? Im only a week and a few days out of the surgery, and so far they look good, shape wise anyways, but I think they might end up being a bit longer than i would like...Im going to wait and see if its swelling though. Even if they are a bit long, I dont know if I really want to have a revision. definately not now anyways, I dont want to miss more of summer than I need to...id probably wait till september or something. but we'll see how it goes. glad to hear yours went well, I wonder if the doctor i had is new there then, because i didnt read anything of their website about dr wanzel. thanks for your reply :)

I had mine done at the Toronto Cosmetic Clinic and it was a disaster.
Go to a qualified plastic surgeon and not a gynocologist for this procedure.
I now have to find a plastic surgeon to do my revision as the doctor there made a total mess
of my labia. I'm not even sure if there is any way to correct what he has done to me.

Sorry to hear that. Can you elaborate a little bit on what you think happened? I was just on their site and it said they only use DLV /the laser method and that they have "extensive" experience in the labiaplasty procedure so I wonder if this is just something that happens occasionally when a laser is used. There's a surgery centre in my city that uses the same technique and I was apprehensive about it even without hearing you had a bad experience. Btw there's an awesome surgeon in Toronto that someone on here used that I can find you the name of. After looking at his background and before/after photos I wouldn't hesitate for a second to see him for a consult.

I also did not like Dr. Stubbs in Toronto. When I saw him, Dr. Alter and him were the only ones doing the surgery. Although my labia was not that enlarged, he made feel like I had a penis. I wonder if anyone here had surgery with him.

I am so glad I found this thread!!!!!
I have been searching for answers from other girls in Toronto.
I am really curious as to what the procedure Costs and what type of funding is available for this procedure. Did anyone have there surgery covered by health care?? Did anyone use a payment plan for there surgery?? If so which company and was your experience good?

I didnt like the looks of the TCclinic.. I am now looking into dr.wanzel at his own practice, Dr.Lista out of "the plastic surgery clinic" and Dr.David Gerber from Meridia.

Does anyone know of any skilled Female DR's in this field???

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and to answer it
I really appreciate it, please feel free to private message me if you arent comfortable posting in the forum :)

Hi BambiB,

I have not yet had a labiaplasty, but i have done a lot of research into the topic, and here's what i've come up with.
-I hear Dr.Giannoulius (is that how you spell it?) of the Toronto Cosmetic Clinic is very rude and impatient, and pressures you into getting surgery
- I have heard great things about Dr. Wentzel. There is a girl on this forum who got her labiaplasty done with him, and she kept a descriptive diary of her healing process and surgery. She also posted pictures. http://www.makemeheal.com/pictures/vagi ... kie-a11135
- you should definitely check out Dr. Bruce Allan of the Allan Centre for Women in Calgary. He is a gyno, not a plastic surgeon, but apparently he does more labiaplastys than any other gyno or PS in Canada (this is what he told me in an email).
- I searched Dr. Gerber online and i read some comments noting that he was sometime inappropriate with female patients and made them feel uncomfortable. However, i also read a lot of comments saying that he was very kind and compassionate. Maybe a consultation would help make up my mind..
- I have so far only come across one female Plastic Surgeon who is qualified to do labiaplastys. Her name is Dr. Christine Hamori and her clinic is in Boston. I have heard very good things about her, and you will find alot of info about her (and pics of her work) on this forum.

This is just what i have found in my research, but i would deffinately look into it more yourself, you may come up with something totally different. I really hope this info helps, let me know if you have more questions and i will try and answer them as best as i can!

Toronto Cosmetic Clinic isn't so bad, you know. I got vaginal tightening done there and it went so smoothly. they are pricey, and yes, they do do everything, but in the end they lived up to what they said they would do. I was worth the money because they took great care of me, unlike other places I won't mention....

Wow, and she's still listed on their website http://www.tcclinic.com/toronto-cosmeti ... h-york.php

I wouldn't go there...

I'm having my surgery with Dr. Wanzel this week. I've heard really good things about him.
