Labiaplasty with les blackstock

Labiaplasty with les blackstock

Postby alpinechick77 » Thu Apr 19, 2012 6:01 am

So I had my labiaplasty and clitoral hood reduction on april 17 in melbourne with les blackstock. I swear I researched him everyday for over 3 months. Iv heard he is the best and I contacted red alinsod who he trained under and red confirmed he was the best. I am so so happy I got this done. Les and his staff were wonderful and I felt totally comfortable and at ease. I asked to be knocked the fk out and he made sure to do just that. I must admit I was terrified of having the surgery done as iv heard all the horror stories, but I knew going in that I had chosen the best surgeon for this procedure and thats so reassuring. I had a 5 hour drive home and on the way home I passed out in a servo bathroom. Thankgod paramedics just happened to be there! I only passed out because I was still quite drugged and only had a protein bar before the surgery. Anyway, I was fine the rest of the way home until I hopped in the shower and almost passed out again. Nothing some toast couldnt fix. Im so surprised at how well I feel. I expected the pain to be much worse. I can walk around fine and its only thursday. Operation was tuesday. Les himself called me to ask how I was going. Very impressive! His professionalism and attitude are amazing. He actually does care about his patients. Im so happy and really recommend this procedure and dr les blackstock. So far everything looks great! Swollen of course but so much better. The procedure was $6300 and totally worth it. I do think it will improve my sex life as ill be more confident. I dont remember getting the local needles at all so there wasnt really pain at all. Iv been having lots of fresh juices to speed up my recovery. And vitamins. I have a 14 month old to look after so its been hard not being able to give him big cuddles. The surgery is so worth it. Just make sure you find a reputable surgeon!

Day 4 labiaplasty

Postby alpinechick77 » Thu Apr 19, 2012 5:43 pm

So its day 4 after my labiaplasty and clitoral hood reduction with dr les blackstock. Its 10:30am and I feel great. Im laying down on the couch as I have been doing the last couple of days. This morning I woke up and was quite sore from the way I was sleeping. The left side of my labia was swollen (its been more swollen than the other one from the beginning), but more swollen than usual. I got up and had a shower. Iv been using the dettol soap from the beginning seeings how it doesnt sting and it feels refreshing. On the first day I was terrified to pee but it wasnt bad at all. Iv only used the bactroban cream so far as I forgot I had the ovestin cream. Ill start using that for nights. Im so happy with the way everything looks even though it is swollen. Im just glad all that stretched skin has gone. I actually showed my husband my vagina this morning lol. In all the time iv been with him iv never actually showed him it. Seriously its the best decision iv ever made to have this surgery! Iv still been having the fresh juices and am taking fish oil and zinc. I really believe they are speeding up my recovery because I feel great!

The actual procedure

Postby alpinechick77 » Thu Apr 19, 2012 6:04 pm

I thought I should write about the actual procedure. I went in at 12. I had to fill out some paperwork and chat to the nurse and les. They were so reassuring and comforting! I changed into the gown for surgery and went into the room where the op would be performed. Les had a look at everything, and then I was able to tell him how I wanted everything to look. He was very patient. He drew on lines where he would cut and then made sure I was happy with where they were. Les took 4 photos which surprisingly, werent the least bit uncomfortable. Hes seen all that a million times before and is so professional. I was given two tablets to put under my tongue, and I had a pethadine shot in my side. None of that was bad at all. I was left with one of the nurses for a while to wait til the drugs kicked in. They werent really doing much so I was given this breathing thing. Once I relaxed into the drugs I was fine. I was still awake but my eyes were closed and I was concentrating on my breathing. I felt completely at ease like I was dreaming. I think I did sleep for little bits because I felt the breathing thing come out of my mouth a few times and I had to put it back. I remember going 'oh its all done' and les showing me in the mirror. I said 'wow'. I just remember being so so happy. The man has given me my confidence back! I dont remember putting my clothes back on or going back to the car. My husband said les was great though. I couldnt have asked for a better surgeon. The man is a miracle worker.

Stitch came out

Postby alpinechick77 » Fri Apr 20, 2012 2:50 am

I noticed whilst going to the bathroom today, a stitch came out. It was only one thank god. Iv been avoiding salt baths because I want my stitches to stay in as long as possible to ensure everything stays together and heals perfect. I am quite achey as I have been standing up for about half an hour. Back to resting now. Standing makes everything swell up and bleed more. I actually havent bled much at all surprisingly! Les did a great job. Iv had my fresh juices and some yoghurt and fruit today. Nutrition is highly important when it comes to recovery as your body needs all the vitamins
And minerals it can get. I had the last of my antibiotics today. Im going to have my husbands left over ones from his vasectomy which are the same just to be sure I dont get an infection during the healing process. Im insanely bored and cant wait to move more but I really want everything to heal the best it can so I know I have to rest up as much as I can. Need some good reading material. I havent had to use laxatives at all either as my diet has been good. Hope everyone else is having a good recovery too xo

I have mine coming up with Les and I have been starting to freak out about the needles etc. I have seen some amazing results from les and only ever words of praise for the guy ... so to hear another positive story makes me feel at ease again.. I have heard of people feeling tugging and stuff when its getting done... [-X

Are you getting any rebate from your surgery? I am also having around my hood done.. he called it 'clit wings' I would love to see some of your after photos :) Please keep me posted on your recovery and let me know of any other things I need to get ready before the big day :D

The itching begins

Postby alpinechick77 » Fri Apr 20, 2012 11:52 pm

Thanks for your comments caseybell! Trust me, you will be in the best hands with les! Hes fab. And I researched him like crazy, he truly is the best. I had the clit wings too so he removed them and shortened my labia to give a nicer line. Im extremely happy! I havent done my medicare stuff yet as iv been resting. My op was 6300 so hopefully I get at least 3000 back. Ill let you know:-) last night I used the ovestin cream for the first time and at 3am I had to get up and have a shower and wash it off. It itched like crazy! I took a phenergan to stop the itching and it worked. Today its still itchy but that means everything is healing. Its driving me insane. I only took one pain killer today. I havent really needed them. Im surprised at how relatively painless everything has been. Caseybell, during the surgery I did feel tugging, but its not bad. Im a wuss about everything so If I can handle it, you can. Just do what I did and ask for all the drugs they have lol. You will be so happy once its done. I recommend you buy lots of dettol soap. It tends to melt away really fast. But its antibacterial so keeps everything clean without stinging. Pads, loads of reading material or dvds for home, take your Ipod. I didnt listen to one during surgery because they already had music on in the room. Oh and dont read the post op notes too much. It freaks you out. Well it did with me. I just thought of everything going wrong. It really is a procedure thats quick and easy if you make sure you look after yourself. Load up on fresh fruit and veg and vitamins like fish oil to speed up recovery. I swear thats whats making my recovery so great. What date is your procedure caseybell? Ill post pics when I get them back from les. Xo

I am so happy to hear you are having such great recovery results. it must be extra hard with the little bubba but what a great time to doing something for yourself to feel sexy... when did your body change? Mine was around 18 I think. I knew when I started getting bad pain in my sporting gear and I was also 'sporting' my own little lump haha  . Again last week I had ice packs from having a really sore swollen clit from my underwear rubbing.. I have my operation with les in a month and it will be great when I can finally live a normal life in normal undies without the pain, without rubbing and the lump in my gym gear and swimmers.. To be able to have sex without my extra skin getting pushed inside me & feel sexy.

I have read salt baths are amazing and it could also help the itch?
Also arnica is meant to be amazing for swelling and bruising.. a lot of people swear by it.

Yes healthy eating is a must

keep me posted on your daily updates, hopefully you have a great sleep with less itch tonight

speak soon,
Casey

Bedtime

Postby alpinechick77 » Sat Apr 21, 2012 6:05 am

Hey hey caseybell! I guess I first noticed my body changing during puberty. Around the time I went on the pill. I used to dance and costumes started becoming uncomfortable with the rubbing and stuff. Oh and work outs were the worst! Try doing squats when you have large labia! Lol. It gets so painful. Im still avoiding salt baths because I want my stitches to stay in as long as possible. I should try arnica though! The itching hasnt been as bad today. Im going to take a phenergan before bed though just in case. At the moment im laying on the couch with no pants or underwear on lol. Just figured I should air everything out seeings how iv been wearing pads all day every day lately. Its strange because even though iv hot stitches, I still feel perfectly at ease whereas before the surgery I would never have just been nude infront of my husband. Its nice to feel sexy. Im only 23 so I didnt want to go through life feeling bad about my body. The surgery was totally worth it! I hated how id wear sexy panties and have the bulge there too. Ugh.. Horrible! Though it is quite sad that there is a beauty standard for vaginas. Every day is getting better and better. My left side is still swollen, though its always better in the morning. I told les id just take my receipts to medicare so thats how ill get the rebate. You shoul get a lot back because he lists it as a medical condition. Just make sure you are able to have lots of time off because you do need to lay down a lot. It is tough having my bub too but mat has time off work so he can look after him. Iv read a lot of people who get the clitoral hood reduction get bumps from their stitches, but mine hasnt done that so thats good. What date is your surgery? Nigh night xo

oh we are about the same age :D It is a good time to do it so we can have the rest of our lives without the worry.
My big day is 6th of June. $6500. My Boyfriend is going away with the boys for a few weeks and I will have my mum look after me for 2 weeks with that time off work. I figure better to be safe than sorry and I can always do a little bit of work from home and the end of the 2 weeks if I wanted.
I was a dancer, Ballet mostly. At what stage did you tell the hubby you wanted it done? My Bf has been great about it.. so that also has made me feel at ease and less of a freak.

IT will be great to feel your lady bits are sexy and then you can fully embrace your sex life.

Nights are bad!!

Postby alpinechick77 » Sat Apr 21, 2012 7:51 pm

Hey thats cool were around the same age. Its definitely a good age to get the surgery. I told my husband I wanted it done after watching 'embarrassing bodies'. There was a girl on it who got it done and she was so happy so I said, thats what I want! He didnt want me to get it, but he supports whatever makes me happy so thats good. I did have second thoughts because while I was doing research on the procedure I came across this blog called
'love large labia'. Its got loads of pictures about women with large labia. But I knew I personally would feel sexier without all that extra skin. I emailed a few places about the surgery but a lot of them seemed to have had quite a few botched procedures. Les is the only person who I couldnt find a single bad review for. You will love him! Last night I had another horrible itchy night. I got up to pee and saw a couple more stitches had come out. Around my clit is a bit stingy today as thats where a couple of the stitches came out. But everything looks great! So happy! Im going to start salt baths tonight. Its good you will have your mum to look after you. Your boyfriend will prob be Stressing out though wondering if your ok. Does he think its weird wanting the surgery? My husband did because obviously no two vaginas are the same but were all trying to make them that way lol. I blame porn haha. Im really hoping tonight is better. The itching gets so intense! But all in all its been so suprisingly painless. Are you getting your surgery in melb or sydney? Xo

I also wanted the surgery more when I read that lauren conrad from the hills has the nickname 'beef curtains' because of her large labia. I would hate to be called that. Lol

First salt bath

Postby alpinechick77 » Sun Apr 22, 2012 1:02 am

So im in my first salt bath since the op. Ahh soothing! For the last half of the day iv been waddling around with a hand down my pants pulling my underwear away from my crotch because the rubbing has been making everything sting. A couple of stitches have came out and im terrified of everything splitting open. Irrational fear, yes. But its scary all the same. I went to err.. Fulfill my husbands sexual needs lol this afternoon. Kneeling down was not a good move. Poor hubby is going to have to wait until im better I think. I feel bad because I didnt have sex with him for like a whole week leading up to the procedure either because I was too freaked out about the surgery.. I just wasnt in the mood. I have put too much salt in the bath I think but I want to make sure its really antibacterial. There is no way I want to risk getting an infection down there when its already been through so much trauma. I am loving my new va-jay-jay. I dont know why I waited so long to get this surgery. I was looking at my left labia today and I think its been more swollen because it has more internal stitches. It feels harder than the right one. Everything is insanely sensitive. Well im going to go enjoy my salt bath. Xo

Uh oh

Postby alpinechick77 » Sun Apr 22, 2012 4:25 pm

Last night was ok. The itching wasnt there but I had stinging on my left side. I really hope everything does settle over time and everything is even. The left side were my clit wing looks like it is going to split open. It looks like only 2 stitches are holding it together and im freaking out. Perhaps I shouldnt have salt bathed as iv noticed a few more stitches have also disappeared. Im going to lay down all day so everything heals nicely. Im also out of antibiotics so hopefully it doesnt get infected. Im really worried about that little part. Eff.. I knew I couldnt have a totally perfect recovery
