There are a couple of Aussie girls on here at the moment, but not many. Originally this was a surgery that would always be done by gynos for medical reasons...it has only(relatively) recently become a plastic surgery option.
The best place to start for a referral to a surgical gyno is your family doc...in any case you will need a written referral to get the medicare rebate.
I beleive in most circumstances you can get the rebate from a PS...but again you will need a GP referral.

I just had my labiaplasty/vaginoplasty done by Dr Blackstock on Sat(22Aug). He's based in Penrith but most of his surgeries are performed in Broadway, Sydney. From what ive been told I should get around $3K back from medicare.
Although im still very sore from the surgery, im extremely happy with their services and professionalism. His lovely wife, Violet was wonderful and caring...she helped make the op alot easier. I would strongly recommend you see them before making any decision.. BTW..u dont need a referral to see him.

Just enquiring-Re-'labia plasty & vaginoplasty' done by Dr Blackstock -5.5k?? labia plasty alone is usually round that price,(5k)-was that wat u had 'vaginoplasty' 'tightening' as well as labia plasty.. ?? Also-$3K back from medicare was that corect?
Les Blackstock is an excellent surgeon that I have known for several years. He is very conscientious and meticulous and truly cares for his patients. I had the opportunity to give Les a Master's Level course on labial and vaginal surgery and our one-on-one preceptorship was simply an amazing time for both of us. Hi there, I have just booked in to have a vaginoplasy and labiaplasy for the 20th of jan /2010. with doctor Les Blackstock, In sth yarra vic, I am so nervous! I Just want to be sure im makeing the right desision!? With the right doctor! I have heard so many bad storys about people not doing enough research on there doctors. I am booked in to have vaginoplasy, labiaplasy & clitoral hood reducion with doctor Blackstock-Dec 5th!! (syd.) I am also nervous,not about the 'decision',im sure dr Blackstock will do a great job Iam more nervous about feeling pain during surgery & also the recovery
Am eager 2see what i get back from medicare-(around $3-$3.5K??)
