Vaginal Tightening

Vaginal Tightening

Postby Nyxis » Sun Feb 16, 2014 8:09 am

I just thought I would post my story. I did not realize I posted the other one in a reply. So sorry for the 're-post'

I've wanted this done for about 6 years at least and now could afford it since really... How high on the lists of realistic wants and needs could this be.

Anyway, I researched and researched. I found the Dr I was going to go with and out of the bad reviews they were mostly about him being rude. 2 were said they were from skill, but they did not say what the problem was and if anything they did contributed to the problem. Anyway, I got cold feet and called another surg and they told me the one I picked out was really good and since I still had the appointment booked that I should stay with him. I thought that spoke volumes for one plastic surg to sing someone else's praises. So off I went to Toronto.
I went to Toronto Cosmetic Clinic and I found the office to be nice, clean and the front staff was very nice. Went in the consult room and the nurse was amazing, so nice and saw that I was scared of the thought of an epidural. Even having kids I did not have one of those. After surg the only thing I could think of was that there was pressure in my tailbone but found out that it was from the area further up inside. If you have very heavy periods mention this to them. Just happened I was on day 2 of mine and was told I would have to take the packing out a little earlier and mine are abnormally heavy.
Take softeners at least 4 to 5 days before surg! You don't want to have to push anything after. So Day 1, was fine, I did not have the lips done as a lot seem to have done. So Day 1, just pressure in the tailbone area. Day 2, used lots of ice packs and pain killers but it was a lot better then I thought it would be. From what I've read it is very painful.
Day 3, it was just tender feeling. I was told people go back to work after 2 days. NOPE, not me. If I were to lay down or stand I was fine. Sit down??? LOL that did hurt. Day 4 I had to sit in class for 4 hours and it took a long time to find a good way to sit. I'm now day 8 and the stitches are starting to pull so now when I bend down I get sharp little stings. So it was no where near as bad as I thought it would be.
Just do as the Dr says, keep it clean! Keep your fingers out of there! (I read of some women poking around checking things out, and got infected) Take the meds they give you and rest. I asked the Dr after if he thought it was quite lose, he just told me it was 3 fingers wide and I think he has big fingers at that. I was made down to 1 finger size.
My poor husband, I did measure him before going to the surg and found out that they recommend this. One thing to ASK! Ask if they tighten the whole length, the nurse when I first talked to her told me he does the whole length and I did find that some Dr's only do the entrance or just the top of the vag. So make sure that is at the top of your questions. It's a lot of money to spend and I would have been angry to find out after if he only did top or bottom. So far I am very happy with how things are going and would do it again.

Tomorrow is 8 weeks post op. Everything has healed very well and I am very happy with how it looks. I did not realise it hung open so much since now it seems so small. Which IS what I wanted. I am very happy with it. I has not gone for a test drive yet, I know they say you can do it at 6 weeks. But I sure would not, it was still very tender. Even no I don't think it's quite ready, maybe next week. =D I have gone to see the Dr and he's very happy with how things have turned out.

It's now 5 months and I would do it again in a heartbeat!
The nurse told me that people go back to work in 2 days... NO NO NO. Please take min 3 weeks off and if you can take more then I would. 4 weeks at least would be best, my neighbour wants to do it and I stressed to her the amount of time off she should take. My dr here even said yes, min 4 weeks and that plastic surgeons want to sell their product. Don't touch anything down there while it's healing, I know we all want to see what we paid for but if you poke around down there then you can cause problems. I also read that someone tried to have sex after 4 or 5 weeks. I did not think about sex for about 8 weeks and did not have it till 12 weeks (husband was gone so it was not really a choice) I did go to class the second week but it was only 3 hours and it was very uncomfortable and I sat on my side as much as I could and it was only once a week.
I do have pain in the scar but my dr here said sometimes that happens and it's nothing to do with the surg. It can take up to a year to go away. The pain has gone down a bit and it's not very often at all so I think that is true. My scar is about 2 1/4 inches long. Sorry girls, you can not get away without a scar. I find it is way worth the great sex. There is no way that kegal exercises would tighten it up that much. The husband is asking for sex a lot. (he was always supportive and said I did not need the surg but I knew/felt I did) Before it was only a handful of times a year so that is a huge bonus. The interest went both ways for us since I did not get much out of it either. I know there are other ways to make it better but. Why have a couple of skittles when you can have the whole bag. :D

All in all, I would do it again for sure and we are very happy I had it done.

Forgot to add, I was not given a whole lot of information at the clinic, if any.

At the 2 week mark, I did start bleeding. Enough that a light pad was needed. I was scared, so I went to emerg. Now I had everyone and their dog looking at me down there and I had to explain what I had done....

The dr at emerg did not want to poke around down there because they did not have any experience with that. She looked and sent me to another dr who had experience in plastic surg. He was so nice and amazing, he said this was normal and it was just that the stitches were coming out. I needed to take it easy for 2 more weeks and things would be fine. I saw him a few more times after that to make sure things were good. Which is why I don't get why the girl said people return to work after 2 days. This is a long healing process and not one to take lightly. I changed my pad every 3-4 hours because I was afraid of infection. That may be a bit overboard but I had read about people getting infections. Take your stool softeners, don't touch or poke and take time off. It's hard to sit and do nothing for 4 -6 weeks. Cheers!
