Hi how did you get a referral to see Jennifer oaks my doctor won't give me one and said there is no way to get covered because it's plastic surgery, I told him that's incorrect and he told me he just won't give me the referral I'm so upset. What can I do? How can I see oaks? Any ideas? I really wanna look into this and get this labiaplasty done it's bothered me for years and mine is extremely large I'm 24 now and ready to make the next step. Please help.
Also of anyone knows any other doctors that specialize in this let me know thx
You can just go to a walk in clinic in Vancouver and ask the doctor for a referral to Dr Oakes. Thats what I did.... however, her wait is long and you just never know when your appointment will be or even if she will see you until they call you (down the road). So I decided to do it with a diff doctor. By the way, she specializes in maternity issues/deliveries. She doesn't actual specialize in labiaplasty, thats the reason why her wait is so long. I have my surgery tomorrow with Dr. Wilkie. He does specialize in labiaplasty, google him. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, I will post updates starting tomorrow after my procedure

I never in a million years thought it would be covered, but she submitted the paperwork to say that my operation was physically and mentally necessary. I didn't have to wait for approval or anything. I had surgery on Monday at St. Paul's (which was awesome) and i have had no pain or swelling. I am completely amazed. I took a look yesterday and from what i can tell, she did an incredible job. Go see her and see what she says. It did take quite a while to get in to see her, but it was worth the wait.
Wow!!! No approval for OHIP....No swelling or pain??? and it already looks amazing????...sounds like your one in a million...this Dr. must be a god...I shouldve flown to Vancouver instead of Calgary. Your like the only one out of all the hundreds of thousands of women that have done this procedure that has had this experience.
How hard was it to get a referral from your gp? I'm a little nervous to ask. I have asymmetrical labia one is perfect the other 3 times the size like a flap of skin. Do you think Dr Oaks would help ? I don't have the money for labiaplasty.

Check out Dr.Wilkie! He did mine, and was absolutely fantastic regarding bedside manner, answering all my questions, and even calling me days later to follow up and again emailing me 6 weeks after since I was an out of province client. I highly recommend him and his team!
Would you consider travelling? There are several who do the procedure in Toronto, ON - especially Dr. Leila Kasrai.Dr. Kasrai is a pioneer in the field, and literally has the best before and after pictures I have seen. Plus, her prices are reasonable, and I'm SAVING money even with flights and hotels (two nights stay). I'm from the prairies, and going to be traveling. I've been told traveling shouldn't be an issue after 48 hours.
