VANCOUVER BC-LABIAPLASTY

VANCOUVER BC-LABIAPLASTY

Postby Need_tons_of_work » Mon Jun 28, 2010 12:22 pm

HELLO LADIES,

Has anyone had luck with labiaplasty in Vancouver BC?? I am having a hard time finding an obgyn/gyno who does this in Vancouver. Even finding a great surgeon who does this is hard! I don't want to travel to far out just in case of any complications. Can someone please help!

I'm willing to go to Calgary Alberta too if anyone has a good doctor or has had a good experience!

Many thanks!!!

I'll let you know. I'm getting mine on Monday with Dr. Jennifer Oakes. She's an ob/gyn and it's covered by MSP (so that's an added bonus).

Get a referral to Dr. Oakes, she is amazing. I never in a million years thought it would be covered, but she submitted the paperwork to say that my operation was physically and mentally necessary. I didn't have to wait for approval or anything. I had surgery on Monday at St. Paul's (which was awesome) and i have had no pain or swelling. I am completely amazed. I took a look yesterday and from what i can tell, she did an incredible job. Go see her and see what she says. It did take quite a while to get in to see her, but it was worth the wait.

She didn't doing any work around the clitoris, but i didn't ask her to. She told me ahead of time that she was very conservative and would rather remove too little than too much. I didn't think she was going to remove enough, but i trusted her and it's perfect. I told her i didn't want a porn star look, i just wanted my labia trimmed. I did everything wrong in theory--i didn't consult anyone else, i used an OBGYN instead of a plastic surgeon, but i completely trusted her from the moment i met her. I did the same with my nose and ears (same surgeon did both)--i never consulted any else. I have been very lucky with my choices, my ear surgeon did a free revision on my right ear as i wasn't totally happy--and i mean free, no operating fee, no anaesthetic fee, nothing. Get a doctor's referral to see Dr. Oakes, you won't pay for the consultation. It can be a wait though.

Hi,
You said you are willing to travel to Calgary.... Dr. Bruce Allan is a gynecologist in Calgary who does labiaplastys... apparently he does the most labiaplastys out of any plastic surgeon or gyno in Canada. I am considering having a labiaplasty done with him... If i end up going for a consultation i will let you know!

Just today got a referral to see Dr J Oakes because of this post.
Thanks for that.
Anyone know how much of a waiting list she has for this procedure?
Thanks
P

Thanks T13nif, I will be counting the months.

I got a pm with questions about getting a referral. Sorry, I deleted your pm from my gmail and it doesn't show up here, so I will answer your question here.
Yes, it can be covered. I just asked my GP for a referral, I requested Dr Oakes because of posts here and because she is a woman. There are no women doing the procedure here. I found her contact information just googling her name.... Dr Jennifer Oakes in Vancouver.
Sorry about deleting your message, not really familiar with this forum, but getting used to it.
Let me know, in pm or here, how it goes. But for now, all I know is my referral is in and I am waiting for a call from Dr Oakes office. Now, I know I can expect to be waiting a few months? But that is OK with me. Good luck.

Dec 1 is my first appointment. So 3 months was pretty easy wait. Oakes is on maternity leave, so Dr Oconnell is taking over. I think she is a woman also.
Hope so anyway.

Let me know.

OK, serious question here.
I am from out of town having surgery with Dr Oakes.
After a 3 day stay in Vancouver, will I be able to walk to my plane and ride home?
