It is superfluous and likely not "helpful" or therapeutic for the skin:

A salt produced from Stearic acid. A white porous powder, it is an important basic ingredient in making Make-up such as Rouge, Powders and Eye Shadows. It increases the adhesive property of these products, both on the brush and on the skin.

Thanks D so much for the reply and the additional info.

I was palnning to use the capsules in My DIY recepies . When I googled it , I found that it is also used in skin creams . So I am lil cofused. I understand that its not Therapautic. Does that mean it will be harmful for my skin? I am sorry for dwelling on it. just wanted to be cear . I really count on this forums opinions.

Harmful is subjective. I doubt it would "ruin" your skin, but it could cause irritation and dryness.

The purpose of DIY is too be as "pure" with your actives as possible, with few additives that can/may cause unnecessary problems.

You can probably use it without causing a terrible problem for your skin, but it may interfere with the actives' activity, or you may have other issues from its use. No way to tell, really, unless you don't use it.
